About us
Rádió Mi started its broadcast in 2005. Our radio is the only free civil radio station in Szeged, and as such, it is an excellent field for experiment and for the prompt realization of sudden ideas. Those who take on to make a show in this radio also take on not to hide behind the increasingly fashionable media clichés. They have to speak, if you like, they have to go up on a virtual stage as long as they have a reason to speak and an audience to talk to. And why wouldn’t they have?

Rádió Mi is operated by a non-profit civil organization called Itt Szeged Egyesület. The members of the association are the DJs and the anchors of the radio, they make all the decisions together. Everybody in our staff are volunteers.

Our programming is dominated by underground music and cultural programmes. We also have programmes about science, sports, equal opportunities, etc.

Our main partner is the Communication and Media Department at University of Szeged. They are providing the studio for us, in return for this we are providing a practising opportunity for the students.


Reception

We are broadcasting on 89.9 MHz at Szeged. We have a low-power broadcasting licence, so our coverage is much smaller than the local and regional stations. With portable receivers, such as built-in FM radio in MP3 players or cellphones, the coverage area is limited to the city center. With a better receiver and antenna you can listen to us in a larger area.
